Named Allocated GP

From April 2015 all practices are required to provide their patients with a named GP who will have overall responsibility for the care and support that the surgery provides to them.

The allocated named GP will have overall responsibility for the care and support that our surgery provides to you. This does not prevent you from seeing any GP in the practice as you currently do. 

You do not need to take any further action. If you wish to be told the name of your named GP, please ask the receptionists when you are next in the surgery. 

If you are unhappy with the named doctor allocated to you and have a genuine concern that this doctor will not be best placed to undertake the responsibilities assigned; then you can ask to be reallocated to another doctor.

Appointments

calendarIf your condition is non-urgent you can expect to see a GP within two working days, though you may have to wait longer if you want to see a particular GP. If you don’t need an appointment within two working days, you also have the option to book, normally up to 13 weeks in advance if this is more convenient for you.

Consultations, either face to face or by telephone, are by appointment only. To make an appointment, either call at reception or telephone 01926 425436, after 8.30 a.m. Ideally, please provide a landline number for telephone consultations. Each appointment is for 10 minutes, including administration time. If you have more than one main problem, you should book a double appointment or appointments on different days.

Nurse appointments are pre-bookable and vary in time depending on the treatment required.

appointmentsTo ensure that the appointment system is managed in a fair and efficient manner, patients who are more than 10 minutes late will be asked to rebook.  


Emergency Appointments

If your problem is too urgent to wait for the next available appointment you will be seen at the end of surgery. You will be required to give the Practice Nurse some details and if necessary, you will be referred to a Doctor after the normal surgery. If your problem is not an emergency you will be asked to book a routine appointment. 


Appointment Cancellation

Please help us to help you by telephoning us in advance if you are unable to keep your appointment. We can then offer it to somebody else and reduce the waiting time to see a Doctor or Nurse.

Patients who regularly do not turn up for appointments, without cancelling, may be asked to register at another Practice.
